"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
- John 1:14
I was meditating on this passage and became spellbound by the profound reality of this. Jesus, who is God and by, through, and for whom all things were made, became flesh and put on our humanity. Think of it! Our God, Sovereign and eternal, experienced birth in all its weakness, vulnerability, and messiness. Wow! Such humility, meekness, and selfless love truly sets our God apart from all the other "gods" of this world.
There was no other way for Jesus to become our Redeemer, our Mediator, our High Priest without first becoming like us in every way necessary so that He is the last Adam can do what the first Adam failed to do. He had to become a man and die as a man so that He could atone for humanity's sins.
What could possibly be the appropriate response to such unimaginable things as this except awe-struck worship! 🙌🏽😲
