@SR-Coker Drinking water is good for us and should not interfere with your stomach growls; however, if you have a metabolic disorder such as diabetes be sure to check with your medical doctor before making any radical changes to the way you and eat and drink.
I hope this helps.
Kelly, this is so very rewarding to watch isn't it? I tell you what, there is no power in the universe like the cross of Jesus Christ. That, and gospel-focused mentoring, makes these kinds of changes in the hearts of people.
Psalms 37:39-40 (NIV) The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
The cross shows us the salvation of the righteous coming from the Lord. The cross is a stronghold in times of trouble. At the cross the Lord helped us and delivered us. At the cross the Lord saved us. The cross is a refuge for all who believe.
Kelly, I love how you are not only a mentor but always a student, as I am and every believer is.
Kelly, this should be required reading by all taking the weight loss course! It details exactly how God sets us free. Spiritually, we are set free at the cross, where God has removed our sin and guilt and made us free from condemnation. Physically, as we realize that no food is any longer "off limits", and that we can eat anything when hungry, we are set free from bondage to food.
"The power of sin is the Law" (1 Corinthians 15:56), so Satan makes sure that diets all have their laws, such as "low carb only" and "no sugar" and on and on the laws go, thereby keeping people in bondage to food.
I love Lisa's understanding, and I love her freedom that Jesus died to give her!
@Jody-Cleveland Well done @Bill-M! You made a "major difference" in another life! And ours too, Bill! Praising the Lord for seeing many enjoying Jesus more than their former lives! Even enjoying suffering with Christ!
