Father take away Jason's heart of stone that has been hardened against You and give him a new heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 11:19)
Circumcise his heart so that he can believe you and love you! (Deuteronomy 30:6)
Father, put your Spirit within Jason and cause him to walk in your statutes. To delight in You and in your way(Ezekiel 36:27)
Grant Jason Godly sorrow over his sins and lead him to repentance and a knowledge of the truth so he can escape from the snare and traps of the devil. (2 Timothy 2:25–26)
Open Jason's heart and create faith in him to believe the gospel! (Acts 16:14)
Open his mind to know and understand the truth and be set free!
Do this Father according to your electing grace, in accordance with those whom you have chosen in You before the creation of time to be holy and blameless in your sight according to the pleasure of your will and building of your kingdom.
Please save Jason in accordance with your own purpose and grace which was given to him in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.
Father, you made us a promise and it is that if you be lifted up you will draw men to you. Please send someone into Jason's life and create opportunities for them to lift up the Cross right before his eyes, and as the Cross is being lifted, turn the eyes of Jason's heart to look and call out to his soul to live. Amen!
Thank you so much for your prayers and giving praise to God for Jesus Who gave us life and His amazing grace at the cross as we walk through times of struggle.
Mark 10:45: “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Robyn writes: "We are starting cleanup efforts now. Praise God, out of an outbreak of 12 tornados in 2 hours, there was only one casualty.. Most injuries are minor and relief efforts have been well covered. ..We have several friends who are now homeless and many houses have been destroyed in our town, ..so it will be a long process to rebuild, but people are thankful for Life. Water & power is beginning to be restored, and things are improving inch by inch. We are amazed especially to see the Body of Christ come together to meet people’s needs in many unique ways. One church had a trailer full of clothing donations, one specialized in shoes, one group brought hundreds of sandwiches to carry through areas where transportation wasn’t possible. That plus donation of water, food, basic needs. And MOST importantly, we have been surrounded by the prayers of so many! His Hands & Feet have been busy & it is touching many people. Please continue to pray this situation magnified & honors His holy name, and pray for those who are beginning the long task of rebuilding, and that this is the opportunity for the Spirit to make the blind see."
I’m thankful you are taking one of the courses here with us and love how you used the term "Victory Over Sin".
The Purity course is a great course and I will be praying for you as you continue to learn and apply the gospel to your life. But first please review this list of biblical terms here so we do not get confused about why we are here and what the purpose is.
And here’s how I’m praying for you, Jordan;
Galatians 2:20 ESV I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Father I thank You for Jordan and pray that as he looks to Jesus lifted up on the cross his flesh would be crucified with Christ. Buried with Christ. And raised with Christ to live a new life in his flesh by faith. Thank You for loving Jordan all the way to the cross where Jesus gave His life to set Jordan free! In Jesus name. Amen!
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:36)
Thank you so much for your prayers dear sisters, I truly felt the Lord's help with me on test day. I'll find out my results on the 26th so I'll be sure to give an update; pass or fail I'm thankful to God for His Goodness!
Yes, that does complicate things. It is a blessing that the Holy Spirit is capable of reaching through all of our barriers to give us the Truth. I pray that this will be the case with your brother. Do not forget that with God all things are possible.
@Chris-Dow Chris, thank you so much brother for bringing the "good news" of the gospel to these men! Wow! I was so excited reading this "long" writing that I didn't want it to end! Thank you for sharing this with us here brother, what an encouragement! This really highlights the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony!
Revelation 12:11 ESV And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
"O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? (25) I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 7:24-25 and 8:1-2 NKJV)
Taking responsibility is one's "foolishness" and confessing that to those involved, asking for their forgiveness is a powerful witness of the grace of God in our lives. The non-Christian does not do that - they will find an excuse and blame others. With God's grace and help, you can get better at letting our light shine.
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that we are still a work in progress. Help Kelly and all of us to remember that we are being used as a witness for you. Even when we do "foolish things," give us Your grace and humility to ask for forgiveness of those who are affected by our poor decisions and demonstrate the power of the Gospel within our lives. Let our light so shine that they will see our good works and give You the glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
@Richie-Baker Richie, I was exactly the kind of believer that you describe here, for many many years. I honestly thought I would never "get it" nor be able to really change.
But what I was missing was the power of the gospel and to understand that God changes me through the gospel, I don't change myself.
Romans 1:16-17 (NCV) I am not ashamed of the Good News, because it is the power God uses to save everyone who believes--to save the Jews first, and then to save non-Jews. 17 The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself--that it begins and ends with faith. As the Scripture says, "But those who are right with God will live by faith."
I believed the above passage for years, thinking that the gospel was for unbelievers to be saved by it, but my problem was I was a believer thinking I had to do the changing myself. Then I read this:
1 Corinthians 1:18 (NCV) The teaching about the cross is foolishness to those who are being lost, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Ah, now I see it, the good news is also for those who are being saved, it is the power of God not just for unbelievers to be saved but also for believers to be changed!
Father in heaven I pray for Richie right now that you would take him to the cross and show him all that you accomplished there, and that looking at the cross sin would lose power over Richie. Please help him to understand the greatness of Christ's love--how wide and long and high and deep it is, and to be changed by gazing at the sacrifice of your Son. In Jesus' name, amen.
