I really appreciated reading this especially the reference to the ceremony of the animal sacrifice that served as an oath God was taking to bless Abraham and his descendants. I love how the threads of the Gospel is seen in it. When God passed between the animals He promised to keep the covenant and endure the curse. He became both the covenant keeper and covenant breaker so that we can receive the promise.
Galatians 3:13-14 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
