Lesson 17 Question 9
Loving this course by the way. You are helping me to answer a lot of questions, as I was raised to depend on psychology and pragmatism.
Anyway, I thought I spotted a very small typo and wanted to be helpful to report it.
Was the intention to write out James 5:17 or 5:18? I'm guessing is a typo?
James 5:17–18 (NASB95)
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
18 Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
And so, the Bible is careful to say: “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth” (verse 17). Elijah was a sinner, a fallen human being just like you and I; and yet, he was declared to be righteous by God just like you and I, and his prayer was heard and answered.
Question 9. Please write out James 5:18 from above:
RE: Group Study Question
Ah I see, thank you for the reply.
A friend of mine is one of your mentors and has agreed to mentor me through the Purity course. I think the gospel-centered approach you are taking is the direction I also want to take with our men's group at church.
Group Study Question
I have been speaking with one of the elders in my local church and we would like to start a men's group using the "Setting Captives Free" group study. How does that work? Do I ask each person wishing to participate to sign up and enroll in that course? Would they all get the same mentor or could I assign my pastor as the mentor?
