Hi again Jan. Just know that you are being prayed for this morning here in Australia brother. I pray especially that you will allow God to use the affliction to the furtherance of the gospel brother.
I was reminded of the importance of keeping our eyes focussed thus only two days ago. Wednesday morning I was at the hospital getting the news that I do indeed have prostate cancer (more tests needed now before they decide on treatment). Wednesday night I got a phone call from a one time SCF student who just needed someone to talk to. With great joy I was able to point him away from the worldly counsel he was involved in back to the foot of the cross, and pray with him.
Every moment, every soul we encounter, point to the hope we have in Christ brother. I look with relish at serving my Lord in his actual presence one day soon myself, whether that be tomorrow or in 20 years in our measurement of time.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honour, right alongside God. (Heb 12:2 MSG)
