Life Is A Roller Coaster

This roller coaster of life I am on right now has brought me to my knees before the Lord my God. He has shown me so many things that I had never considered, and He has asked me to meditate on them. Today He is showing me His steadfast love and how it holds me up in this life’s storms that swirl around me.
Isaiah 45:2a states, “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight.” My life seems to be a series of roads that I have never traveled before. They zigzag before me and change even as I try to navigate them. This promise of God calls me to look up to Him. He calls me to follow the Spirit’s guidance in my life.
In my mind, I know this is the truth, but darkness tries to hide this truth from me. But I know that God never lets go of me. Deuteronomy 31:6 tells me so. It says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
So what can I do today and every day to know God’s purpose for me and follow His plan for my life? The answer seems so clear but has been clouded by the life storms that I am living in.
The Lord calls me each day to the cross of Jesus. He calls me to focus on Him, to lay my burdens down there, but most importantly, to seek forgiveness under the blood of the Lamb of God. He died so I might live. Colossians 1:20 reminds me of this. It states, “and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."
Next, I am reminded to walk by the Spirit who dwells in me. He will lead me in God’s paths of righteousness that are provided by Jesus, as Psalm 23:3 reminds me. The Spirit brings God’s peace to me. In John 16:33, Jesus tells us that His peace He will leave with us.
Finally, God reminds me to stand and fight against sin in my life in the armor He has provided for me. Ephesians 6:10-14 describes this armor so well. I have been given His Word which is the sword with which to fight. I have been given salvation, truth, righteousness, faith, the Gospel Message, and prayer to enable me to be alert against all that will come at me. These treasures from God are mine for right now. They allow me to stand firm in life’s storms and not lose heart.
So life’s circumstances have not changed, but I am given all I need to not fall away from Jesus in the midst of them.
