See What God Does For You!
As I read this verse, Psalm 66:5 - “Come and see what God has done; he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of God.”, I started reflecting on all the things God has done for me in my lifetime.
First and foremost, Jesus came to earth to die for my sins. (John 3:16) I am forgiven of my sins and saved because of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross for me. I have put my faith in my Savior. His blood flows like a fountain continually over me. I can wash in His forgiveness over and over again. Let me praise God continually for His love, mercy, and grace that are new to me each morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) As Psalm 66:1-2 says, “Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!”
Next, God has put His Spirit in me. He dwells with me always. The Spirit leads me in God’s truth. (John 16:13) He protects me and prays for me. Never am I left alone. I can truly say God hears me. Psalm 66:19 states what I feel in my heart: “But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer."
Finally, God has equipped me to fight sin that tries to take my eyes off of Him. He has given me all I need to stand firm in Him. His WORD is my sword (Ephesians 6:17), with which I fight against sin in my life. He has given me all I need to live abundantly in Christ. (John 10:10). Psalm 66:12b affirms this: “Yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance”.
This is just the tip of what God does and continues to do in my life. Have you thought about His glorious deeds in your life?
Let us join with others and praise His name. Let us say to God, “How awesome are your deeds.” (Psalm 66:3) Let us “Shout for joy to God all the earth.” (Psalm 66:1), and make His name known to all! (Hebrews 2:12)
