"Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests — but the Son of man has no place to lay His head!" Matthew 8:20
My heart sunk within, and tears filled my eyes as I meditated on this remarkable truth. Jesus gave up so much so we could inherit so much. He became poor, destitute, needy, and poverty-stricken so we could become so rich.
And the emptying and lowering of Himself weren't just from without but also from within. Jesus became so hated, ostracized, rejected, and forsaken on the Cross so we would be "so loved."
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
Lord, thank you for becoming nothing, becoming a beggar of a Man so we can become rich with the golden bowls of forgiveness and lavished with the wealth of your Grace and love that pours out to us.
1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us,
May I never take for granted a warm bed to lay down in nor the warm embrace of the Father's love to fall in. It came at such a great price to Him, though full and free to me.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed.....but with the precious blood of Christ, 1 Peter 1:18-19
