The law required our perfection, our absolute obedience so that we could live, and it promised death and destruction if we didn’t keep it. We couldn’t keep it so God did it for us. He sent His Son to live perfectly in our place, and then to be our sin offering!
Think of it, friend, you have your own personal sin-offering, the Lamb of God Who has taken away the sin of the world (John 1:29). When you look at the cross of Calvary what you should see is Jesus coming with your Name on His hands (Isaiah 49:16), going up on His cross to remove your sins entirely, dying to remove your guilt and shame, and shedding His blood to cover over your sin! Now, when God looks at you He sees absolute perfection, sinlessness, holiness, and righteousness. Yes!
This is really good news for many of us who have been performance driven. Maybe you’re like me and have always looked at your own performance to determine whether to feel good about yourself or not.
Well, now we can stop all that. Now we can look at the cross and see Jesus’ performance in our place. He kept the Law perfectly in our place, friend. He obeyed completely, never having sinned even one time. And all of Jesus’ law-keeping is now attributed to you as if you had kept God’s law perfectly your entire life. He sees you as perfect, and holy, spotless and blameless. It’s the way He sees everyone who believes! Here, look:
Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault (Colossians 1:22).
Think of it, friend, because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, in God’s eyes you are entirely holy. You are as holy as God Himself now. And you are blameless.
Because Jesus was blamed for everything wrong you’ve ever done nobody can blame you for anything now. NOT.ONE.SINGLE.THING. You stand before God faultless!
I encourage you to watch the following video. It is powerful! Let it draw your heart into worship as you see visually what has happened to you at the cross.

Traci writes, "Because the cross has made me flawless in my Father's eyes I can perceive myself as clean and holy even with faults that I may have."
Carnell writes, "Because of what Christ has done for me on the cross I am considered faultless, blameless, perfect before God. No one can hold a single thing against me."
Tori writes, "It was so lovely, especially to see visually how stains are lifted up and the people were made new. Jesus is so wonderful for doing this, it makes me so grateful and so amazed by the beauty of what Jesus did."
So here is how this works out:
The Law was unable to make us righteous, perfect and holy because in our flesh we are unable to keep it perfectly.
God did for us what the Law cannot do. He sent His Son to be a sin offering, thereby removing our sin from us and making us perfect.
The result of Jesus’ sin offering is that we measure up to the Law’s standard of perfection.
Dear friend, beginning with the next lesson we are going to look at 10 things your Father has left for you as an inheritance. He did this because He loves you immensely. As we look at this vast inheritance He left us, it will begin to blow away the dark clouds of depression, just seeing all the riches of His inheritance for you.
But today I just wanted you to see that He has qualified you, through Christ’s death on the cross, to share in that inheritance, so that when you look at your inheritance in the next lesson you can say “that is mine!” to all 10 things, and know it to be true! Not because of what you have done, but because of what Jesus has done for you.
He really does love you. Would you take a moment just now and let His love flow into your heart? Just look up to the cross and receive all that Jesus wants to pour into you. Can you hardly contain that much love? It’s like a waterfall of love!
