Lesson 11 – Are You Walking in the Spirit or the Flesh?
Question 8
Application: of the Cross – Look at Jesus
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15 NKJV)
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation (appeasing God’s wrath) for the sins of the people. (18) For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” (Hebrews 2:17-18 NKJV)
“And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.” (1 John 3:5 NKJV)
(Isaiah 53:9; Luke 22:28; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 7:26 NKJV)
Yes, but Jesus…. Yes, we are tempted, But we can run to Jesus.
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (13) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:12-13 NKJV)
How can we escape? Like Joseph, we run to the Cross. In Christ Jesus, we can…
