Lesson 15 You Are Not Your Sin

Testimony and Question 7

Abhishek writes, "The principles of freedom taught in the Freedom from Substance Abuse course are incredibly helpful in my walk with Christ. They provide a clear framework for understanding spiritual growth and freedom, and they offer practical guidance for daily living as a believer. They remind me of God's love and grace, empower me to live in obedience, and help me stay vigilant against sin. Overall, they serve as essential pillars on my journey of faith. Reflecting on the past 30 lessons of Setting Captives Free, I've noticed several significant changes in my life: Spiritual Renewal: Engaging with the lessons has indeed deepened my faith and revitalized my spiritual life. I've felt a greater awareness of God's presence and a stronger connection to His leadership in my life. Freedom from Bondage: Through the process of "washing at the cross," I've experienced a sense of liberation from struggles and burdens that once weighed me down. Finding forgiveness and healing has brought a newfound sense of freedom and wholeness. Empowerment by the Holy Spirit: Learning to walk by the Spirit has empowered me to rely on God's strength rather than my own. This has enabled me to face temptations with greater resilience and to overcome sin in areas where I once felt powerless. Practical Strategies: The course has equipped me with practical strategies for living out my faith daily. Establishing healthy boundaries, cultivating spiritual disciplines, and seeking support from fellow believers have all been instrumental in my journey of growth. Transformed Perspectives: Engaging in the lessons has changed my perspective and worldview. I've gained a deeper understanding of myself and my struggles in light of God's truth and grace, leading to increased humility, compassion, and empathy. Overall, the changes experienced through Setting Captives Free have been deeply personal and transformative. While my journey may differ from others, the common thread of growth, healing, and freedom in Christ has been unmistakable. I am grateful for the opportunity to draw closer to God and experience the transformative power of His grace in my life. I recommend this course to others seeking spiritual growth, freedom from bondage, and a deeper relationship with God. My encouragement to others would be to approach the course with an open heart and a willingness to engage with the material, trusting that God can work through it to bring about meaningful change in their lives."
