Lesson 8 Hearing the Message of the Cross

Testimony and Question 8

Christian writes, "I was a slave to YouTube and other social media. I still have to be careful not to waste too much time on those platforms. I could reduce my dosage of psychotropic drugs to some extent. I want to continue to taper off these medications, but I will have to do it in small steps over time and under the supervision of my doctor. That's why I would love to continue with the Setting Captives Free courses. Your courses have been such a blessing and a real help in leading me out of sexual impurity and porn addiction. So I believe that it would also help me get free from dependence on psychotropic medication. I am washing at the cross daily, sometimes several times a day. The cross of Jesus and His precious blood mean more to me today than ever. He is becoming more and more wonderful to me. It is challenging for me to walk in harmony with the Holy Spirit, but I am determined to learn and fight. Yes, I have to wage war against my flesh daily, hourly, moment by moment. Sometimes I win by the grace of God, but when I fail, I run to the cross and let Jesus' precious blood, mercy, and grace wash away all my sins. There were times when I had hardly any hope left. But thanks to the beautiful message of the everlasting gospel, I have hope again. I spent many years in bondage, but I am determined to dedicate the remaining years of my life to the One who gave His all for me. Thank you for giving me new hope! I recommend the Freedom from Substance Abuse course at Setting Captives Free because I believe that its focus is on Christ and the gospel, which is the most important part of it all. The gospel, with its message of hope, grace, mercy, and forgiveness, comes through so beautifully in these courses. Also, the many testimonies of others who went before us are a great encouragement. I believe that every prisoner of sin would find new hope in Christ through these courses."
