Lesson 27 Walking by the Spirit Review

Questions 1 and 2

Greetings friend, welcome back! This is the last lesson on Walking by the Spirit. I do hope you are seeing the absolute necessity of doing this; for we either walk by the Spirit, or we live in the flesh. The Spirit of God has been given to us to continually point us to the cross, that we might rejoice in the good news, die to our own flesh, and live in freedom.

Review

Today, I have a precious and beautiful illustration of this biblical truth of walking by the Spirit. Before looking at it though, let’s review the specific work of the Spirit, as told to us by Jesus in John chapters 14-16:
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
John 14:26 (NIV)

The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father in Jesus’ name to be our Advocate. Our defense lawyer. The one who is on our side. He is the one who comes alongside us and helps us in our weakness, prays for us when we are tempted, comforts us when troubled or discouraged and lives in us, and walks with us all through our lives.
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.”
John 15:26 NIV

Question 2. What is the role of the Holy Spirit, according to John 15:26?
