Lesson 14: The Object of Our Faith is Christ Crucified

Questions 1 and 2

Marco Polo of Mike’s teaching: Monday 5th April 2021
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 NIV
From the teaching today:
Galatians 2:20 talks about what happened to you and me: judicially, spiritually and practically… Judicially, this tells us of our standing. I have been crucified with Christ. That is your judicial standing… So at the cross you paid your penalty already in your substitute [Jesus]. Spiritually, this speaks to our inner life. Christ lives in me so the moment you become a believer you begin to experience change because your old corrupt nature was destroyed. And a new life was put in you. Christ in you the hope of glory… Practically, this verse tells us our walk in the world… because the believer is learning to live by faith, and not by sight. Now it is very important to know this. Our faith has an object: The Son of God. Specifically, what He did for us on the cross who loved me and gave himself for me.

Question 1. Are you learning to become cross-focused like Paul was, and like the Bible is (Old and New Testament)? Are you learning to see the scriptures from a narrow perspective? Are you learning to see the cross everywhere, and to become as enthralled with it as Paul was?
