Lesson 3: Freedom Through the Real Gospel

Question 1

In the teaching today, we learn that Paul, Christ’s apostle, gave us three ways to identify a false gospel:
  1. A false gospel is troubling (Galatians 1:6-7).
  2. A false gospel is no gospel at all (Galatians 1:6-7).
  3. A false gospel brings condemnation to those who preach it and to those who believe it (Galatians 1:8-9 NIV).
”I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.” Galatians 1:6-7
“And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.” Luke 1:12
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” Galatians 1:8-9 NIV
