Pleasing God

Day 22 - Think about howe we can please God

As I was reading my Bible this morning, I read Eccelasticis 2:26, ”For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.” In this verse, the first phrase caught my attention, and upon it, I mediated.
How does one please God? I asked myself. Then I knew that the only way to please God is to be a child of His. By putting my faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, I am a child of the Living God. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and then died on a cross of splintering wood. Torn apart was He for you and me. He took upon Himself all our sins. He died, as the perfect sacrifice, that satisfied the wrath of God. He rose from death three days later by the power of the Spirit. In this great act of love for us, sin and death were defeated.
The same Spirit that raised Jesus now lives in all believers. The Spirit leads and directs us in all truth from God. He imparts to believers knowledge and wisdom from our Father. So as we are led to walk in the ways of truth, we can stand and fight against our flesh. Sin and death have no hold on us.
What joy this gives to each of us - a gift from God our Father. Great gifts we are given. These gifts of knowledge, wisdom, and joy, are beyond compare, paid for by the blood of the Lamb.
