Lesson 2 Fullness of Joy, and Eternal Pleasures
Question 5
The writer found “the path of life”, “fullness of joy” and “pleasures forevermore.” These “eternal pleasures” are said to be found “at God’s right hand”; in other words, in His presence.
But here is something very interesting. Please notice this verse:
“After he (Jesus Christ) had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” Hebrews 1:3 (NIV)
This verse is simply telling us about Jesus Christ. It says that He “provided purification for sins”, which means He died on the cross to remove our sins and make us clean.
But then it says something else interesting. It says Jesus “sat down at the right hand” of God. Do you remember where the “eternal pleasures” are, according to Psalm 16:11? Yes, they are “at the right hand of God.” That’s where Jesus is!
So simple logic would tell us that if there are eternal pleasures at the right hand of God, and that Jesus is now at the right hand of God, then in Jesus Christ are eternal pleasures. Do you see it?
In tomorrow’s lesson, we’ll talk about some of the temporary pleasures we find in media.
Question 5. Since I introduced Jesus Christ in this lesson and we learned that in Him there are “eternal pleasures”, please share your understanding of Jesus. Do you know Him? Who is He to you?
