Lesson 29 Share Your Story

Question 1

Greetings again, and welcome back to your course. You’re nearly finished now, just one more day. I do hope you’ve enjoyed your studies with us here, and that you’re praying about continuing on to the mentorship course.
As you’ve noticed I’ve put my story with media addiction all throughout this course. I’ve not held back in sharing my struggles with you, even some of the really difficult things I’ve gone through because I’ve wanted to give you hope.
I want you to know that Jesus Christ has become for me so much better than media of any type. I still use media. Indeed for long portions of my day, I’m writing courses and mentoring here at Setting Captives Free. But through it all, I’m worshiping Jesus, so excited to spend time with Him and share Him with others.
And now, I’m providing you a chance to do a similar thing. Today you have a chance to share something very important that will benefit not only you but also other people: your own story with media addiction, the highs and lows, and especially what Jesus is coming to mean to you now. This is one of the purposes of a testimony: to give hope to other people.
I want you to notice how Paul’s testimony was specifically designed by God to provide hope to others:
1 Timothy 1:15-16 NIV Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. (16) But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Question 1. According to 1 Timothy 1:15-16, what is the reason why Paul was shown mercy?
