Lesson 22 Our Response to Grace
Question 5
I want you to read 2 Corinthians 6:11-13 again, but this time read them as Jesus speaking directly to you from the cross. As the soldier pierced Jesus’ heart with a sword, Jesus had already opened His heart up to you.
Hear Jesus saying to you: “I have opened wide my heart to you, I have not withheld my affection from you. Now, open wide your heart also.”
The real change that Jesus wants from you is your heart. He wants you to open it to Him, to receive His love and His grace in a life-changing way.
When I really contemplated the cross of Jesus Christ; that is, I saw that He had opened His heart to me and not withheld His affection from me, it broke my heart. I mean I literally wept at such a great love displayed in such vibrancy on the cross. Jesus called to me, asking me for my heart, encouraging me to turn away from my empty way of life in gaming, videos, social media and the Internet. And I did. I still use these media tools, but now I use them for the gospel, to share Jesus’ love with others and call them to come and experience His love too.
Question 5. Are you experiencing the love and grace of Jesus? Then don’t receive it in vain. Turn, turn turn. Leave the empty life, find love and fullness in Jesus. Are you doing so? Please share your thoughts:
