What a wonderful lesson on the importance of confessing our sins to one another.  We will always need some trusted Christian brothers that we can be open and honest as we deal with our sins. 

Together, we come to the Cross to be healed, but also to see God’s mercy and grace being poured out.  May we always see God’s hand as He uses those Christians the Lord brings into our lives.

James is showing us that prayer can bring about miracles. Prayer can not only bring rain to the earth but can also bring healing to sick people and forgiveness to sinners. If we confess our sins to one another and pray together, God’s grace comes to us in abundance; and God might even perform miracles among us.

You might be frightened right now to take this next step. I have watched God work a miracle in the heart of my wife, and the hearts and lives of other men and women. It is always such a joy to watch God pour out grace like rain, to flood people’s hearts with a love they’ve never had before. I’ve seen spouses forgive from their hearts, embrace their husband or wife, cry with them and give thanks for God’s love and mercy in their lives. 

I don’t know exactly how it will go with you and your situation; there are no guarantees. I encourage you to depend upon the Lord, seek Him earnestly in prayer, and trust Him to do what is exactly right for you. 

As you seek the Lord earnestly and make an honest confession, it is entirely possible that God might open the heavens and shower blessing after blessing of grace on you. This might happen instantly or gradually over time. I urge you to move forward in prayer and confession and see what He has for you. Remember, He loves you.
