Set Free by Jesus' Death

Linda writes, "Through The Grace of God through the Righteousness of Jesus on the Cross we are set free from sin. As a result we have life here and for eternity. Sin no longer reigns in my life."

Linda writes, "We will no longer be trapped in sin but set free from it. We have no more need to sin because we live in His Grace that always covers our sin."

Dan writes, "The "natural," or "worldly," rationale is that if grace abounds and always remains greater than the sin, then when sin increases, grace would increase even further. This may lead someone with worldly thinking to conclude that if we go on sinning, then grace would abound all the more, which would mean, indirectly that sin causes grace to increase so to continue sinning would be at least okay, and may even be good. However, this is a false rationale and conclusion. The truth is that a true encounter with the grace of God sets us free from sin and also places in us the desire to do what is right, rather than the desire to keep on sinning. We are set free from sin, not so we can continue to fulfill the desires of our flesh and continue living in sin, but so that we can live in obedience to God, who paid the price to set us free from all that garbage that once held us prisoner."

Mike B. writes, "When Christ died, I died with him, and became a different person. We are not linked to sin anymore. We died to sin. He is the only one that can make me alive. We died to the judgement of sin. We died to the penalty of sin. I died to the curse of the law. We died to the power of sin. Sin has power over someone that is alive, but we are dead to sin."

Christian writes, "It means I have died. I am dead. I do not live anymore as a slave to sin. Dead men are no longer guilty. Dead men can no more sin. No more judgment, penalty, curse, condemnation, and, finally, no more under the power of sin."

Linda writes, "My old life has been buried; my new life sets me free through my death into His death and life into His Life. I am always covered with His Righteousness. My identity is not Linda but a new name, righteous in Christ. No longer under the curse of sin.

No longer judgment of my sin No more penalty of my sin No guilt ever declared on me -- Died to the power of sin. Romans 6:11 and Romans 6:7"

Mike B. writes, "Death came, decay, barred from paradise. Pain and suffering. The earth was cursed. The crown of thorns was Jesus wearing the curse. He was condemned in our place. Therefore there is now no condemnation for us. We are like Barabas. We are set free, even though we are guilty."

Linda writes, "The earth -- death, sin, curse, decay, relationships broken, gates, no paradise, locks, nakedness. Earth was cursed.

Why the crown of thorns? Jesus was wearing the crown I should be wearing. Adam and Eve driven out of Eden but Jesus opened up Eden to the thief by he sword of His Blood to His very heart.

What does the Cross mean? -- Jesus was condemned and for crimes He did not commit so would be pardoned for all sins I committed. No condemnation."

Mike B. writes, "It is a great reminder that I am dead to sin. That I am to consider or think of myself as dead to sin. I have been nailed to the cross with Jesus and I am dead."

Dan writes, "Today's teaching is a much needed reminder and refresher of what Christ did for me on the cross. Not only did Christ die for me, but I also died with Him, which set me free from the power, influence, penalty and guilt of sin, including my own sin nature. I am reminded that I am set free from sin in this life and no longer am compelled to follow the evil desires of my flesh, whether it be lust, anger, or any other thing. In Christ, I have the choice to obey Him, and by the grace & power of God in me, I can live in obedience to Christ and live in freedom from sin!"

Linda writes, "I can now see that I truly am dead--dead in the coffin of sin, closed forever to the face of the Father. He no longer sees me in my sin. Glory to Jesus! Hallelujah!!

I see that I am dead and now I am alive with Jesus and that I could have all the food in the world around me and I don't have to give in to my old dead self!
