Lesson 15: Exchanging Old for New at the Cross

Testimony

Alyssa writes, "Before this course, I felt paralyzed by my thoughts, circumstances, and feelings of being unwanted or undesirable. Throughout this course, I have learned how to take my thoughts captive to Christ and the process of renewing my mind with thoughts of Jesus Christ and the love He so boldly shared with us when He lived His life on this earth and died purely to save us from our past, present and future sins and shortcomings. I have dug deeper and more intimately into my relationship with God due to the circumstances in my marriage. I have learned to keep my eyes on God and do my part as a God-fearing wife for my husband. Although I have yet to see a change in my husband and my circumstances have seemingly gotten worse, I can cling to the joy and love of Christ that is a lifter of my head. My outlook has changed from one of hopelessness and fear of the future to one that sees the hope and lives in faith that God will do His work, and in the meantime, I follow Him, getting closer to Him and resting in His love for me. This course mostly helped me realign my thoughts with thoughts more edifying to God instead of crippling thoughts that made me sink deeper into the pit of sadness and hopelessness. God is good, and His love for us is immeasurable.
I highly recommend this course to any woman feeling hurt by their spouse's actions and decisions. God has a way of using circumstances like this to draw us closer to Him, to come to a better understanding of who He is and His unwavering characteristics. This course helps you process your hurts and pain and then replace it with the love that Christ has for us—renewing our minds with thoughts of His goodness and love. As a result, I have a more intimate relationship with God, I have a driving desire to live for Him, and part of that is treating our husbands with love and respect despite their shortcomings. This course gives practical ways to show God's love through our words, actions, and love towards our husband that will hopefully help lead them to a deeper relationship with God and ultimately with you."
