Lesson 14: The Cross Gives Us Life
Step 3
If your answer to question 5 was not joy-filled, may I encourage you to go to the cross, spend some time there, take in all the scenery surrounding it, and then fix your eyes on Jesus, Who is suffering and dying under a load of sin and the burden of shame and guilt? Though sinless, Jesus became sin for us, and as such, received the wages of sin, which is death, that we might live now and always. If this does not cause your heart to soar in thanksgiving and worship, spend some time at the cross, looking into the face of Him Who died for you, asking Him to give you the same passion for Him that He has for you so that you can sing...
Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
