The fourth truth about our inheritance is:
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory” (Romans 8:17).
In the Old Testament, the tribe of Levi received no inheritance, no land among the other tribes. Why?
“At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister and to pronounce blessings in his name, as they still do today. That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the LORD is their inheritance, as the LORD your God told them.”
Deuteronomy 10:8-9
“I am your portion and your inheritance.” Those words made them richer than all the other tribes, richer than anyone who has lived in this world. They had nothing, but they in fact had everything because they had God.
The same is true of us, who were previously “children of the devil” and “objects of wrath”, now we inherit God Himself. He is our very great reward, our inheritance (Genesis 15:1).
What an amazing inheritance, right? The same God Who sent His Son to die to remove our sin has become the inheritance of all who believe. Think about this, friend. Really consider it, that your inheritance is better than a house or a bunch of money, it’s God Himself, the Creator of the universe and the Redeemer of all mankind. God is your gift! God is your portion! God is your inheritance!

I have everything I need, I need to daily remind myself of this."
The fifth truth about our inheritance is:
“By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith, he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith” (Hebrews 11:7).
We who were once involved in wickedness are now heirs of righteousness. This righteousness comes by faith. In other words, as you see Jesus dying in your place you believe, and in believing you are declared righteous. We inherit the gift of righteousness by faith in God’s Son.
Question 6. You are an heir of righteousness; you get this inheritance by believing in God’s Son. What thoughts do you have about this inheritance God has given to you?

Carnell writes, "It is comforting to know the inheritance I have in Christ. It makes my dark cloud of depression dissipate. THE CURSE HAS BEEN REMOVED. I AM BLESSED BY GOD. I HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH ME FOREVER.."

In the next lesson, we will finish looking at the inheritance we have. Are you seeing how all of what Jesus has done for you provides you with an amazing inheritance? And are you seeing how this can affect your heart and change your life, driving all “dark forebodings” away and making you smile at the future? We’ll see this even more in the next lesson, Lord willing.
