Lesson 6 - Kindness
Question 3
So, how does kindness show itself in the believer?
How should believers demonstrate kindness toward others? We start with the Cross.
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)
“And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:24 NKJV)
Believers ought to show "kindness:" kindness in action, kindness expressing itself in deeds. Kindness does not express itself in anger against sin, but in grace and tenderness and compassion."
Reminds me of Jesus with the woman at the well. In kindness, He confronted her concerning her sin and offered the solution. (John 4:1-42) With the woman caught in adultery, in kindness, Jesus confronted the Pharisees with their hypocrisy and told the women she was not condemned by Him – go and sin no more. (John 8:1-12)
