Lesson 8 – Faithfulness

Question 6

Believers should keep growing in God's gift of faith "from faith into faith." (Romans 1:17) This growth is likewise described as believers being transformed "from glory to glory," as we behold the glory of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18)This faith in the Gospel is coming to the Cross as we grow from faith to faith in our sanctification. It is this faithfulness of believing day by day we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.
Reflection:
Many people believe . . . without having faith (like the demons) – and many have faith . . . but lack enough belief to carry it through! “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.”
The Christian’s life goal is only to do works of genuine faith, i.e., only what is inspired by God revealed from His Word. How do we know what "works" to do? We listen, read, study, memorize, meditate, and sing God's word. We make God's words our thoughts, and we, by faith - trust, and obey. There is no other way.
[Faith from God inspires (produces) faith-believing, i.e., faithfulness.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)
