Lesson 1 - Overview
Question 8
What is our only hope?
Yes, as long as we are in these sinful bodies, we will have this conflict going on within our lives. But the Good News is found in Galatians 5:24-25:
"And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." (Galatians 5:24-25 NKJV)
There is real hope to overcome and put to death the "old man." We come to the Cross and find ourselves crucified with Christ. We will find our freedom in the Gospel, not only for our salvation but also for our sanctification.
Paul shows us from these verses and in Galatians 2:20-21 the key to exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit:
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (21) "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." (Galatians 2:20-21 NKJV)
8. Have you come to the place where you have believed the Gospel? Have you believed and have put your faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ? Do you desire to walk in the Spirit? Please explain.

We will find that the fruit of the Spirit are those qualities that we see in Jesus Himself. So next lesson, we will begin looking at these qualities of the fruit that are found in Christ and manifesting in our lives.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV)
