Lesson 9 Fighting in the Shadow of the Cross
Testimony and Question 7
Rayelin writes, "I was saved at a young age, but on and off through life I've walked in the Spirit, and then got off track and walked in sin - I've struggled with over drinking and had attended AA a few times in the past - but the last few times it didn't feel right. In the back of my mind, I was thinking what this class taught and confirmed to me through scripture... I do have freedom at the cross - I am healed from substance abuse, I DO NOT need a sponsor I need Jesus, I do not need meetings to rehash over mine and everyone else's addiction abuse - I need to look to the Cross and be forgiven and walk in the Spirit not condemned. I need Jesus to help me fight against my flesh. I am so grateful for this course at Setting Captives Free - I will continue washing at the cross, walking in the spirit, and warring against my flesh, taking my thoughts captive and not believing the thoughts the world wants but renewing my mind with the Word of God. I have not been drinking or having alcohol in my home... I have had a little more anger, and my patience has been a little thing - but I can go to the Cross instead of a drink."
