Anxiety vs Peace

Day 14 - Mediate on Philippians 4:6-7

Today I read these verses and asked the Lord what He had for me in them.
Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”
Anxiety causes me to worry about many things in my life. It leads to my looking for answers from the world. Try this quick fix or that quick fix the world says to me. None of these fixes solve the problems of my anxiousness. The by-products of all of this are gluttony, sleeplessness, anger, bitterness, hatred, and the like.
Peace is resting sure in my Savior’s arms. My heart and mind are guarded against the fiery darts that the world throws at me. I give all my thoughts and questions to God and wait, in thankfulness, for His answers.
Peace, from God, comes through knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior. On that cross, lifted high before men, Jesus died, taking all my sins upon Himself. The perfect Lamb of God satisfied God’s wrath against sin.
Jesus rose in the power of the Spirit. He lives having defeated sin and death. The Spirit dwells in me and teaches me how to rely always on my Savior.
Never anxious will I be. For God’s peace, which guards my heart and mind, dwells in me.
