"For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!” Romans 6:14-15 NIV
Ungodly people (those who have not died and been raised with Christ) pervert the grace of God and turn it into a license to sin, and therefore, “they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ, who bought them” (Jude 1:4). The message of the cross was foolish to them, reducing the grace of God to a license for further immoral living, “having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” 2 Timothy 3:5
“Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. 4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:3-4 NLT).
