I’m sure the chief cup-bearer was desperate to hear “good news” about his dream and a favorable interpretation. In prison, not knowing his outcome, whether he would be given a life sentence, a death sentence or be released from prison and restored to his position.
"This is what the dream means," Joseph said. "The three branches represent three days. Within three days, Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as his chief cup-bearer." Genesis 40:12-13 (NLT)
Awe yes! After three days, the chief cup-bearer would be lifted up and restored to his position. can you imagine this? This would be "good news” for anyone put in prison and fearful of the outcome. His life was filled with uncertainty and yet good news came to him that he would be released from prison on the third day, lifted up, restored to his position and would once again serve his royal master and be pardoned from all wrongdoing.

Question 4: According to the interpretation of the dream, what would happen to the chief cup-bearer?
