Lesson 31: Summary and Feedback

Question 3

Consider the scene as Thomas put his hand into the side of Jesus that poured out blood and water to cleanse and forgive him personally for every sin. Jesus invited Thomas into this intimate experience! And then we see Thomas' response of not only belief but pure worship: "My Lord and my God!"
Friend, we cannot invite others to see and touch Jesus physically, but we can invite them to see Jesus spiritually, and Jesus says there is a special blessing for these: Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” And again, we read, “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.”
Our mission is to point people to the cross, to invite them to see with the eyes of their heart the wounds of Jesus (Ephesians 1:18). As God's appointed leaders in the church, we are to bring believers continually before the cross and invite them into the ongoing personal experience of seeing by faith the One who loved them and gave Himself for them so that they may worship in spirit and truth.
And this is also our goal as we go and make disciples of all nations as well! We invite them to see the wounds in Jesus' hands and feet and the spear that was thrust into His side, the crown of thorns He wore, and the stripes on His back. We help them to see that Jesus suffered in this way to forgive their sins, and to purchase them for God, enabling them to worship with us. “And they sang a new song [of glorious redemption], saying, "Worthy and deserving are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slain (sacrificed), and with Your blood, You purchased people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9 AMP).
Our role as believers is to invite all people to look at the cross and see Jesus, who took up our pain and bore our sufferings (Isaiah 53:4). In this course, we have wanted you to see the living One who rose from the grave with the marks of victory in His hands, proving His love for you. We wanted you to touch the scars and marks of Jesus’ finished work where He battled for your life, where He died for you and won!

Miles writes, "I have done many of your courses and have put into practice washing at the cross, walking with the Spirit and warring against my flesh on a daily basis, these current lessons on the Gospel have fortified his grace for me and the glory of bringing the Gospel to others."
