Lesson 8 Exchanging Brokenness for the Fountain of Life
Question 5
It’s obvious that we cannot catch the wind, so chasing after it is futile, a waste of time. We’re reaching out for something we can never have, we’re striving after something we can never get.
This is truly the case when we turn to media to try to find life. We are looking for some excitement, something new, something to give us a rush or a thrill, and yet we can’t quite seem to find it. We can’t catch the wind that we’ve been chasing.
This is like turning to a broken cistern to find water. All the water has drained away because the receptacle is broken, there is none left for us. I’ve discovered, and maybe you are discovering this too, that being addicted to media is simply looking for satisfaction in the wrong place. Are you coming to see this too?
Question 5. As you consider this comparison today, can you see how you’ve been turning to something broken, something that just doesn’t hold water and provide life to you? What are your thoughts?

Hse writes, "I often turned to media to communicate with friends through the screen without realizing that its not a real relationship in that way."
Elisabeth writes, "Yes, almost everyting I'm turning to in life leaves me tired, empty, dissatisfied. I'm turning to it for the wrong reasons, it doesn't hold any strength to life."
If we can admit that what we have been turning to in media leaves us tired, empty and unsatisfied, then we are prepared to learn what satisfies us down to the core of our being! In the next lesson, I have a fantastic and exciting writing that I want to share with you.
In closing, may I invite you to spend some time reflecting and worshipping the Lord of our Living Waters?
