Lesson 8 Exchanging Brokenness for the Fountain of Life
Questions 3 and 4
If you think about it, Jesus Christ gave up His life for you so that you can have life abundant and eternal! He emptied Himself of everything (Philippians 2) so that you could be full (John 10:10)! Though He was rich, yet for your sake, He became poor, so that you through His poverty could become rich in love and joy and eternal life (see 2 Corinthians 8:9).
And most importantly, through His death, He purchased for you the Holy Spirit, the Living Water of God that will bring you true satisfaction, real refreshment, genuine life! “For with you is the fountain of life!” (Psalm 36:9).
Question 3. Please take a minute and reflect on God as the spring of living water. Are you beginning to drink from Him by faith? Are you starting to find some thirst-quenching satisfaction in Him, or discovering that He will always have something fresh and new for you? Explain.

Hse writes, "Yes, I am starting to find some thirst-quenching in him."
Next, let’s consider that addiction to media is like a broken cistern that cannot hold water.
A “cistern” is a receptacle for holding water. Cisterns must be filled from an outside source, and a broken cistern is the worst because no matter how hard you try to fill it, you can never succeed.
A broken cistern is always leaking and never full. Turning to media (or anything other than Christ) to provide our life and soul satisfaction will ultimately leave us frustrated and disappointed, Media is a broken cistern when it comes to satisfying our thirst.
Ecclesiastes 1:14 NIV I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Question 4. Think about Ecclesiastes 1:14 for a minute. How is being addicted to media like chasing after the wind?
