Ah, here is an amazing point! When Jesus was “alone with His own disciples” He explained everything to them.
So here is something we can gather from the above Scripture:
Getting alone with Jesus can be an amazing time of illumination, where Jesus teaches us things and shows us things and explains things to us that we would never have understood otherwise.
There’s an example of this in Luke chapter 24. Two of Jesus’ followers are walking along a road to a town called Emmaus. They are really sad because Jesus had died, and all their hopes seemed to die right along with Him. And now, this is the third day since He died, and they are just really filled with grief and sorrow.
And then all of a sudden Jesus shows up. He had risen from the dead and now He came and talked with these followers, and what He told them, when He was alone with them, brought about an amazing transformation in their hearts. He taught them how the entire Old Testament pointed forward to His death and resurrection, showing them a lot of places where this was true.
During their alone time with Jesus, He opened their hearts, gave them true understanding, illuminated their Bibles and made their hearts burn with joy and delight. They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32 NIV).
Yes, when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.
Dear friend, this can be your experience too!
You know, the Bible is sometimes like one big riddle, right? It can be confusing and hard to understand because it is filled with historical stories, prophecies, parables, and words that sometimes don’t make much sense.
But you know what? If we get alone with Jesus and ask Him to help us understand it, He comes to us personally, opens up His Word to us, teaches us the meaning of it and causes us to understand it. The light comes on! And at the same time, our hearts start burning with love to Him, and we overflow with joy and thankfulness.
