Wouldn’t you imagine that about right now this family is livid with this murdering thief? At this point, the man of the home might decide to purchase a gun, hire bodyguards, get a German Shepherd dog, install monitoring cameras, certainly make sure the doors were locked and even add extra locks; they are both likely willing to do whatever it takes to escape the attacks of their assailant.
Dear friend, the devil comes to “kill, steal and destroy” (John 10:10). He is your assailant, and he means to take everything of value from you, destroy your relationship with God and people, and ruin your entire existence as you know it. Through our involvement in impurity, we open the door to this thief, giving him access even to our family; our spouse, sons and daughters and others in our family will suffer from our involvement with this thief.
“Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8 NIV).

If we hope to fortify ourselves against the evil one, if we wish ever to win this battle, it will be through the cultivation of absolute hatred for everything that has to do with this villain and the implementation of a well-thought-out battle strategy against him. This is the stance that God’s Word tells us to take against sin, and this is the way to have lasting victory.
If you’ve been enslaved to pornography or sexual impurity for any length of time, you need to ask God for grace to help foster a sincere, heartfelt hatred for all forms of sexual immorality. This will indeed happen to you at the foot of the cross, as you gaze up into the face of your Savior, as you receive His love and forgiveness and acceptance right there.

(13) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
