Lesson 10 Washing at the Cross: Praying God’s Word
Questions 5, 6 and 7
I’m praying this one with you: “Father in heaven, I see Jesus dying on the cross, and in so doing He is setting me free from sin. He paid for my wrongs through His death and set me free from the penalty of my sin. Now, Lord, let me truly become a slave of righteousness, a happy captive of Jesus and holy living. For I know that in becoming a slave to righteousness, I am free from the power of sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Romans 6:19 ESV I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
Romans 6:20 ESV For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness
Romans 6:21 ESV But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
