Lesson 22 Washing at the Cross, Remember Our Cleansing

Questions 3 and 4

This is one of the most important teachings one could ever find on the subject of freedom from sinful bondage. God’s promises contain within themselves divine power and that when we believe them, we partake of God’s divine nature, the result being that we escape sinful bondage.
We become partakers of God’s divine nature through gospel promises, not only once in salvation, but ongoingly in sanctification; and this enables us to escape lust and sinful bondage. This is the power of God’s Word as God’s Spirit applies it, helping us to see that all of God’s promises are “Yes” and “amen” in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
