Lesson 55 Washing at the Cross Leads to Worshipping the Lamb

Question 8

By His blood, that is, through His death, Jesus paid the price to ransom you from Satan’s kingdom. He paid the price to release you from illicit relationships, from self-gratification, from every sin that the devil holds up as being so thrilling. Oh, friend, this is why all of heaven worships Jesus! He ransomed us! “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, (6) who gave himself as a ransom for all people” (1 Timothy 2:5-6).
In Revelation chapter 5, all living creatures are worshiping Jesus, and their worship can be attributed to this one statement: “for you were slain, and by your blood, you ransomed people for God.” Do you see how worship is tied in with the cross?
These people are worshipping Jesus because He died for them, and in so doing, opened the book of life for them. The cross is always what produces genuine worship in the hearts of people, as we see what God has done for us through it.
Are you seeing this friend? Do you see Jesus lifted up to die for you? Do you know that He conquered death and opened the book of life for you? That at the cross He is cleansing you, freeing you, ransoming you? Do you see He is doing this because He honestly loves you?
Oh yes, He knows all you’ve done wrong, He knows how you’ve failed and fallen repeatedly. He sees that you are ashamed. He knows you; He loves you. He gave His life to save you. Love paid the price for mercy, and love conquered for you!
As we come to a close, please take just a few minutes and worship while watching the following video. May I encourage you to hear Jesus saying this to you from His cross?
