Lesson 55 Washing at the Cross Leads to Worshipping the Lamb

Question 7

Oh, friend, an answer has been provided, the solution has been found! It’s the Lamb, who was slain and is risen! This is how the Bible teaches us the value and the victory of the cross. Do you see it? Jesus destroyed your death through His own. Jesus brought life and freedom to you! He conquered death for you; He conquered Satan for you.
Don’t weep anymore! Look at the cross and see not only your forgiveness, not only your cleansing but also your victory! Look at Jesus hanging there, and see what He is doing: He is winning the battle for you. He is destroying death for you, then rising from the dead for you.
The Bible tells us that the Seed of the woman would deal a death blow to the seed of the serpent (Genesis 3:15). On the cross, Jesus conquered our enemy, Satan, and through His resurrection from the dead, He conquered death.
The slain Lamb opened the Book of Life to anyone who believes, and it is as if He wrote our names down in that Book in His blood. Look into that book. Look for your name. Oh, there it is, right there, written in blood, the blood of the Lamb!
The slain and risen Lamb conquered! He became a fountain of cleansing for all who need to wash their sins away. The slain and risen Lamb destroyed idolatry and rescued us from slavery. He conquered, He cleansed. He rescued, He redeemed. “Who would have thought that a Lamb could rescue the souls of men?” Take a moment and worship while you see how the Lamb brings worship.
Oh, what good news it is that the Lamb has conquered. He has conquered our fears and our failures. He has conquered darkness and death. Oh, how I praise You, Lamb of God, how I worship you!
Now let’s notice the effect of this good news:
Revelation 5:9,12 ESV (9) And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, (12) saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

Question 7. According to Revelation 5:9, what had the Lamb done to create this kind of worship?
