Lesson 59 Overcoming Through Testimony

Question 6

Jesus is your Mediator. He speaks to God on your behalf. And Jesus is your Ransom, who at the cost of His own life, purchased you from death. Through the payment of His blood, He purchased your healing (“by His stripes you are healed”—Isaiah 53:5), and through His death, He bought your eternal life (John 3:16).
My friend, Jesus Christ ransomed you. He paid the price of His own life to give you eternal life--tell this message of the cross! Tell how God is changing your heart, as you wash at the cross!
The cross is the main thing! Jesus’ ransom, the price He paid with His life, sets Christians apart from any other religion, it’s the one message that contains power, that gives hope and love and life. Don’t be ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16)!
Focus your testimony on the cross of Jesus where He paid your ransom price, where He took your sin on Himself thereby removing it from you, where He shed His blood to make you right with God, where He died that you might live and then rose again on the third day!
My friend, may I encourage you never to leave out the one message that distinguishes you from any other religion: the cross/resurrection of Jesus Christ. Remember, there is power in the blood!
Next, let’s notice the results of the work of this Mediator/Ransom in our story in Job:
(25) their flesh be renewed like a child’s; let them be restored as in the days of their youth’— (26) then that person can pray to God and find favor with him, they will see God’s face and shout for joy; he will restore them to full well-being.
Job 33:25-26 shows the amazing and powerful work of Jesus, our Mediator, our Ransom, our Great Physician. Because of His giving of His own life to ransom us, and His interceding with the Father on our behalf, we who believe become “new creations in Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:17) as we are “born again into a living hope” (1 Peter 1:3). Most importantly, we are given a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26), which is where the transformation starts.
And further, He “tells us how to be upright” (Job 33:23). He leads us in paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3), putting us on the “highway of holiness” (Isaiah 35:8), and teaches us how to live “upright and godly lives in this present age” (Titus 2:11-12). All this is the work of Jesus. He is our Mediator, our Ransom, and our Teacher.
But then let’s notice the testimony that comes out of this work of Jesus, the Mediator/Ransom/Teacher:
Job 33:27-28 NIV And they will go to others and say, ‘I have sinned, I have perverted what is right, but I did not get what I deserved. (28) God has delivered me from going down to the pit, and I shall live to enjoy the light of life.’

Question 6. How does Job 33:27-28 show us the points that make up a good testimony? What are those points?
