Eve saw that the fruit was good for wisdom, and it was “pleasing to the eye.” Satan always uses something tantalizing to tempt us. He appeals to all our senses - sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound. Food ads display glossy images with steam rising or luscious-looking frosting that beckon us to imagine ourselves feasting on it. We must be aware of Satan’s schemes and take the appropriate precautions.
Question 3. What did Adam and Eve do once they realized they were naked?
Hiding is a natural response to personal sin. We run and hide from God, knowing within ourselves that we are naked and exposed to His anger against sin. And we try to hide our sin from others, fearing what they will think or do.
Adam and Eve not only hid in the garden, but they also tried to cover their nakedness with fig leaves. This way is man's religion: attempting to deal with sin and be right with God through self-effort.
Today, Adam and Eve sewing coverings of fig leaves is equivalent to working some program, completing the steps, making vows and promises, and doing all you can to keep God's law. In the heat of the day, these self-efforts will shrivel up and fall away like those fig leaves in the garden.
Notice too that sin makes us very self-centered. After Adam's sin, God came looking for Adam asking, "Adam, where are you?" Adam answered, using a word he had never used before, and he uses it four times in one sentence. Take a look:
