Lesson 22 Warring Against the Flesh: Practical Battle Plans

Testimony and Question 9

Laurie writes, "The biblical principles taught in the Weight Loss Bootcamp course were introduced as the way to overcome the sin of gluttony, but this strategy is what we need to battle all sin and bring us closer to Christ.
I have learned to seek the Lord for my battle plan and listen to my body for hunger cues. When I wait until I am truly hungry, I often do not eat breakfast with no problem. Waiting to eat until hungry leads to intermittent fasting, with a 6-8 hour eating window on most days.
Physically, my clothes are fitting better; I feel lighter and look trimmer around my midsection. I feel better and have more energy. I don't have any trouble sleeping. My attitude towards my children is more patient and calm. I used to get irritated with them if they stood between me and a meal or something I really wanted to eat. Now God takes away the desire for the food and redirects it toward my loved ones.
This study teaches you to deal with the sin in your life, including gluttony, overeating, emotional eating, and idolatry of food. It's how we should deal with all sin!"
