Monica's comments on the above question were insightful:
"WE LIVE IN FREEDOM!! I finally understand! This follow up course has been such a blessing. Ever since the lesson I read that had the one sentence "Christ lives in me" the Spirit opened my eyes, heart, and soul to that! I walk in freedom because Christ lives in me! I receive all the promises of God because Christ lives in me! I can fully trust and believe because Christ lives in me!"
In the last lesson, we saw that walking by the Spirit changes our motivation. The love of Jesus becomes the believer's motivation in living for Him, who died for us. Now, in this lesson, we want to see how walking by the Spirit brings transformation.
Please read the following passage and answer the questions below:
“But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:14-18 NIV).

Wende's answer to the above question is very insightful. Take a moment and really ponder what she is saying here:
"I spent too many years (decades, even!) trying to figure out how to control my sin of over eating. Each time a new gimmick would come out, I would buy into it and put my hope in it. Deep down I knew it would not really work long-term because I knew that I was defective; what was wrong with me was deep and fatal. It couldn't be fixed by rearranging my outside behaviors. But nevertheless, I would buy in because I couldn't bring myself to just give up and do nothing. I knew in my head and heart that the solution would be found in Christ, but I could not make the connection while holding on to the gimmicks and their false promises. God's patience with me is astounding! The pieces are falling into place. It is very freeing to know that I am fatally flawed but this is for the glory of God, not the glory of gimmicks. My fault line is deep and wide, the perfect size and shape for God's love to fill. This is the freedom I have been longing and searching for my entire adult life. So, to answer the original question, the results of reading the Law with the intent to obey and live under it are oppression, burden, difficulty and failure."
2 Corinthians 3 shows the difference between the Old Covenant Law and the New covenant gospel of grace. It begins by showing the effects of those under the Law, that “their minds were made dull” as the Old Covenant is read. This is because the Law demands our perfection, and, try as we might, we become entirely hopeless of ever keeping it. We become very focused on the do’s and don’ts, the commandments and rules, and this focus deadens our spirits and dulls our minds.
The same thing happens when trying to follow the diet rules and restrictions of man. We acknowledge that they might be helpful, but our flesh is weak and keeps us from living under the diet perfectly.
Question 3. According to 2 Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV, how is the veil that makes our minds dull removed from us?
