Yes, we call on the name of the Lord and are saved. That is, we confess we are in a bad place, we hear that the Lord has come to our aid, that He sent His Son to rescue us, and so we call out to Him, asking for salvation, asking to be rescued from our darkness.

Yes, we must believe in Him. We must exercise faith. Against all odds, pushing aside all doubts, we put faith in the gospel, hoping against hope that it really does apply to us.
