We must hear it. Or read it. Or somehow be exposed to it. You must be told that God loved you and sent His Son for you, that Jesus loved you and gave His life for you so that you might believe that message, call out to God and thereby experience all the love, power and grace of God.
Dear friend, I believe that according to Romans 10:15, I have been sent to preach the good news to you. God has told me to tell you about Jesus, to call you to look at Him and to ask you to believe in Him. And so this entire course is going to be filled with pictures of Jesus, stories of Jesus, clear teaching of Jesus, all designed that you might see Him, hear the good news, and actively put your faith and trust in Him. This will lead you to call to Him and receive all the power God has for you.
Notice this next passage:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— (9) not by works, so that no one can boast.
