Lesson 4 – Peace

Question 5 and 6

They have NOT come to the Cross for reconciliation; they are NOT crucified with Christ and are NOT walking in the Spirit. Christians can do these things: Look at how this wickedness is expressed in Proverbs 6:
“These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: (17) A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, (18) A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, (19) A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.” (Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV)
All of these seven things that are an abomination to the Lord come from a sinful, self-centered, self-promoting, self-seeking heart that does not want to do things God's way:
“But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. (15) This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. (16) For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” (James 3:14-16 NKJV)
James is very clear – any confusion within the church is demonic in origin. And shows itself in being self-seeking. It is about ME.
