Lesson 4 – Peace
Question 4
The Scriptures are clear if we find no peace in the Church:
“If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.” (Proverbs 29:9 NKJV)
It is possible to have foolish people within the church. Even the wise man is unable to contend because the fool will not listen.
"There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked." (Isaiah 48:22 NKJV)
The fool has no peace – because there is still wickedness controlling the heart: ("I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)) Look at that list of the works of the flesh that pertain to no peace:
"Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV)
