Seek the Lord

Day 26 - Seeking the Lord

1 Chronicles16:11 states “Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
Psalm 119:2 states “Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart”
These two verses were part of my Bible reading this morning. I was surprised but not really when both spoke of seeking the Lord. I began reflecting on them and how they show me the Gospel.
What came to mind was that the only place to start seeking God is at the Cross of Calvary. When we come and sit at the foot of the cross we stop and listen to the voice of our Savior. He speaks to us through His Word, through praying His Word and letting His Spirit of Truth guide us into all truth.
The Spirit of God, who dwells in those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, guides us in how we should live to bring honor to God and to show the great sacrifice of our Savior to all. He glorifies God and leads us into paths of righteousness.
The Word has come into the world and now He speaks His words of truth to all who seek His presence continually. This can only be done if our eyes are fixed on Jesus and the glorious work of redemption that He did for us.
Let this truth, that all the Bible points to the Gospel, seep into our hearts. Let us seek the Lord with our whole hearts.
